At an early age she began hair styling for friends and family as a hobby. Her uniqueness and skill set made her services coveted, and after a 16 year career in the medical field she traded her career in for her passion. Her client base was so large she decided to attend beauty school in 2006. After the completion of the standard 1500 course as well as a natural hair care certification she worked at some of Houston’s upscale salons. Not long after signing on Koinonia began to see the natural hair business was just that a “business”. Stylists were not serious about taking care of natural hair and the lock shops were chop shops. They were using cheap products and were not giving professional service. She decided to implement her vision and thus the Lock Spa- Beauty Empire was born!
